"Bird Set Free" is a song by Australian recording artist Sia, and the second single from her seventh studio album, This Is Acting. The song was one of three tracks Sia wrote for consideration for Adele's third studio album, 25, but was cut at the last minute. The song was written for the Pitch Perfect 2 soundtrack, but was rejected in favor of Jessie J's "Flashlight." The song was then pitched to Rihanna, who rejected it, and then sent to Adele, who recorded a demo of the song before rejecting it, as she was told the song's sound fit Sia more. The song was one of two Adele cuts to make the final track listing for This Is Acting, with the other being "Alive." It was released as a promotional single on November 3, 2015. It was released as a single in the United Kingdom on September 2, 2016.
