The Golden Globe Award is an accolade bestowed by the 93 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) recognizing excellence in film and television, both domestic and foreign. Adele has been nominated once for her single, "Skyfall," the theme for the James Bond film of the same name. She went on to win the award. This is the first film-related award Adele has been nominated for and the first award "Skyfall" has been nominated for.

The awards marked Adele's first public appearance since the Brit Awards in 2012, due to her taking a short hiatus to care for her newborn son.
