"Haunted Skies" is a song co-written by Adele and Paul Epworth that was originally intended for her sophomore album 21; however, it was cut from the album prior to its release.
It was believed that "Haunted Skies" could have been an early version of the Ryan Tedder-produced "Turning Tables," which featured the line, "Under haunted skies, I see you." However, being that Tedder was not credited as a writer on the track, it can be assumed that they are two separate songs.
"Haunted Skies" was originally placed as the album's sixth track, preceding "Rolling in the Deep."
