The Satellite Awards are an annual award given by the International Press Academy. The awards were originally known as the Golden Satellite Awards. The award ceremonies take place each year at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles.
In 2012, Adele's song "Skyfall" was nominated for Best Original Song at the Satellite Awards, but lost out to "Suddenly" from Les Misérables. Thomas Newman was also nominated for his work on the score for Skyfall.
