Debuting on September 8, 2003, it is produced by Telepictures and airs in syndication, including stations owned by NBCUniversal, in the United States and Canada. It is also aired on ITV2 in the United Kingdom. On January 20, 2016, it was announced that the show had been renewed for 3 additional seasons through 2020.

Adele has appeared on the show several times throughout her career.

Additional footage that was cut from the episode due to time constraints was included in a later episode and shows Adele and Ellen playing “5 Second Rule,” a recurring game on the show.
