“Work It” is a hip hop song written by American rapper Missy Elliott and producer Timbaland for Elliott’s fourth studio album, Under Construction (2002). The song’s musical style, and production by Timbaland, were heavily inspired by old school hip hop from the early 1980s. It samples Run-D.M.C.’s “Peter Piper” and Rock Master Scott & the Dynamic Three’s “Request Line.”
Adele sang a snippet of the song on October 25, 2016, during the first of her two shows in Miami during the Adele Live 2016 tour, which supported the release of her third studio album, 25.[1]
